To local residents who may survive this seismic event - those who would surely have substantial claims against the county and the resultant toxic exposures from Brightwater – would very likely encounter quickly depleted county resources, no state insurance authority and have no recourse.
Or we wait, like New Orleans, for FEMA while we die horrible deaths from chemical exposures. Is this a model for democracy or a brave new world?
